Our client – a successful accountancy practice based in Leicestershire – is seeking an experienced, qualified Accountant to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be tasked with cultivating client relationships, carrying out day-to-day activities necessary to maintain a highly efficient, flexible and responsive accounting service, creating/implementing strategies to achieve client goals. You will be highly efficient, flexible, and ensure all work meets high service standards.

Key requirements / duties include:

Develop good working relationships with client base, meet & provide necessary advice / services. Ensure that all client work is dealt with efficiently, and that the client is kept regularly informed about progress / costs,
Knowledge of regulatory compliance environment,
Hold client meetings, identifying their goals, developing strategies to meet targets using systematic thinking & global accounting knowledge,
Prepare sole trader & property accounts,
Prepare management accounts, financial statements (incl. FIC’s & trust accounts),
Assist clients with bookkeeping, VAT & Payroll returns,
Prepare individual, partnership & corporation tax returns,
Keep an audit trail of all transactions, maintain accurate comprehensive records for each accounting service client. Maintain all required documentation in compliance with legal requirements.
Maintain strict confidentiality at all times, in relation to clients & company documentation,
Deliver excellent, clear, appropriate and concise communication at all levels with clients, colleagues and external contacts,
Support, review the work of, and mentor trainee accountants / accounts admins,
Ensure company processes are adhered to, identify and report any gaps or inefficiencies (where appropriate),
Proactively plan and prioritise workflow to ensure deadlines are met.
The Right Person

Qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent, with minimum 5-years post-qual experience,
Experience working in an accountancy practice & managing a client bank,
Effective client relationships & communication skills, confident in presenting financial information to senior management and key stakeholders,
Passionate, demonstrating pride in the quality of your work,
Proactive and able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision,

Excellent planning, organisation and deadline time keeping skills,
Strong IT skills incl. IRIS Accounts, + Tax, Xero, QuickBooks Bright Pay, MS Office.

Appointment Type: Permanent
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (subject to experience)
Hours: Full-Time
Holiday 26 Days + Bank Holidays
