Catering assistant

Shift times 11-3 pm Monday to Friday or full time,

We pay weekly.

Accrue holiday pay per hour on top of this

Full time staff will receive food allowance

SUMMARY OF POST

The Catering assistant to assist in the provision and serving of food and beverages within the the catering outlet, collect payment for such services, conduct cleaning and stock control duties.

Catering assistant specific duties

Effectively operate a cash register; to take payment, maintain a float and cash up the till

Carry out basic food preparation, basic cooking and food assembly duties

Serve food and beverages in line with service standards

To be aware of and adhere to Catering department’s portion control guidelines

Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with statutory Food Hygiene / Health & Safety policies

* Catering Assistant To be aware of and adhere to fire procedures

* Store and restock foodstuffs in order to maintain an adequate service

* Clear, clean and polish crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils

* Clean and maintain floors and all equipment in kitchens, and service areas, in line with cleaning schedules

Provide a courteous and efficient service to all customers

Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and ensure clean uniforms

Check and pass on information and comments as required from contact with staff, students and visitors

Within the scope of responsibility and knowledge of the post holder, to attempt to rectify any customer complaints by referring to the Supervisor on any action taken, or alerting him/her to action taken

Work flexibly and undertake any other catering-related duties that may be reasonably required within the scope of the role
