Purpose of role
To plan and order materials for the weekly production menus, taking into consideration material stock holding, supplier delivery days, planning restrictions and efficiencies through the kitchen. Communicating with the kitchen daily regarding the delivery of the menu plan, as well as dealing with daily delivery issues and resolving live stock issues within the kitchen, to support a successful menu delivery. This includes ensuring the plans and the systems are updated and are fully aligned.
Recording relevant production data to help with reporting and recording performance, along with highlighting potential problems to allow for quick corrective actions.
To be part of the Planning team, as well as working within the Classics operational team, ensuring that all planning and ordering tasks are completed as required to enable the smooth running of the kitchens.
Weekly tasks
Planning the weekly production schedule into a menu with the kitchen team, to ensure a smooth and successful delivery of the plan.
Inputting the weekly production menus onto unity to enable kitchens to process batches through the system, to provide material demand for ordering, and to provide information for finished stock management.
Collating the weekly production menu documents and communicating to the kitchen.
Ordering materials required for the weekly menus, communicating with suppliers on a regular basis.
Investigating and resolving stock shortages and delivery issues for the site and working with the kitchen on future corrective actions.
Keeping production menus and unity up to date with any changes and communicating to the production sites, and ensuring supplier Purchase Orders are updated when necessary.
Recording relevant information from the kitchen batch control sheets, and using this information to support improvement in yield/efficiencies/OEE etc.
Ordering staff lunch ingredients
Providing admin support to the kitchen teams where relevant and assisting with any other tasks that may be required by the Planning Team, such as holiday cover for the other Site Planners.
