Job title: Trainee SEND Learning Support Assistant

Day rate: £85 per day

Contract: Long-Term Supply, Part-time

Leader Education are working with a SEND school in Stockton-On-Tees to appoint a committed individual to fill the role of Trainee SEND Learning Support Assistant.

This is an opportunity to join a dedicated, cohesive team in supporting and educating pupils with a wide range of SEN needs including ASC, MLD, PMLD and other complex difficulties.

We are looking for:

* Applicants with experience in working with special needs

* OR Applicants with transferable skills, previous roles include care workers, support workers, roles involving supporting those with learning difficulties, sports coaches, and graduates in subjects such as Occupational Therapy or Childhood studies.

* Able to handle challenging behaviours confidently

* Flexible and adaptable to meet the specific unique needs of SEND learners

* Creative and organised in your approach to aid learning

* Passionate about helping SEND learner/s achieve their personal and academic goals

The role involves:

* Supporting SEND learning on a 1:1 basis or small groups

* Liaising with teachers to ensure the best possible progress for the pupil/s

* Delivering fun, engaging activities and sessions

* Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil/s

The contract type for this role is part-time, long-term supply but there are opportunities to progress to a full-time role.
