Kinetic Recruitment are currently resourcing for 2 Quality Engineers to join our client on permanent contracts in Gateshead. Our client is a manufacturer of specialist products with operations and customers worldwide.

We are looking for 2 Quality Engineers to work on a rotating dayshift/ nightshift pattern.

As Quality Engineer you will report into the Technical Manager. You will be responsible for monitoring and developing internal processes to fulfil quality and safety standards within the Gateshead facility.

Quality Engineer main responsibilities;
Reduce internal rejections and rework costs
Work systematically to implement changes and improvements within the factory
Work with production operators, supervisors and the specialist team
Target specific areas for improvement
Develop an understanding of that specific process
Review current practices to identify opportunities for improvement both to quality and to efficiency
Agree changes and plan implementation, including timescales, with the Production and Technical teams
Periodically review actions to confirm changes are sustained
Provides technical support on material properties to all manufacturing within the Company.
Participate in ongoing research and development
Assist with 3rd party audits
Monitor performance of team & offer coaching / support where performance is not at required standard
Carry out risk assessments + produce and maintain standard operating procedures
Understand Company policies and procedures
Ensure that all hygiene, health and safety regulations are being observed by all employees
Carry out any other duties that may be required that are within the capabilities of the individual filling this role

Skills and Experience
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science (Materials Science / Metallurgy preferred)
Experience in a heavy engineering environment preferred
Strong organisational skills are essential
Have the ability to write reports and correspondence, and have the ability to speak effectively
Self motivated and decisive
Good communication skills
Internal auditor to ISO 9001 - preferred

Please only apply if you are able to commit to working shifts as both positions will work 1 week of days and 1 week of nights on a rotating system.
