Apply on Partner SiteWe are currently working with the Refurbishment / Property Services Division of a market leading UK Main Contractor.
The business currently turnover more than £700 million and built up a large amount of partnering relationships over the past 25 years. They currently have a full order book as well as lots of upcoming work in the pipeline with some major contract wins.
The business specialises in range of new build and refurbishment projects, as well as major mixed-use schemes.
Sectors include: Housing Development, Community regeneration schemes and Retirement Living, Education, Healthcare & Leisure
The business mainly operates as a Contractor working for Private clients, local councils, and housing associations.
They have built a strong top tier management team with the Divisional Director and Managing Director having strong credentials in the Construction and Regeneration Industry.
Business Unit
We are working with a business unit that specialises in refurbishment projects. These types of works include:
Strip Out & Replacement of External Cladding – EWI / Zinc / Rainscreen
FRA Works – Passive fire protection and Fire stopping.
Remedial works
New roofing
Structural works.
Kitchen & Bathrooms + More
Clients they work with include: Local Authorities & Housing Association
ROLE: Quantity Surveyor – Refurbishment & Retrofit Works
Undertaking externals programmes for Local Authority clients.
Properties will be 2-3 Storey Social Housing Homes with external works including: windows and
doors, fabric works, high spec M&E, roofing and PV.
Duties to include but are not limited to:
* To successfully manage and control all aspects of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of the designated project in order to control and maximise the company’s profitability.
* Protect the company’s legal and contractual obligations under the contract and to manage proactively the control of all commercial issues.
* Ensure applications and valuations are completed in line with the contract terms
* Ensuring sub-contractors receive prompt payment and are procured in line with the business’ contractual obligations and Commitments to Subcontractors.
* Managing and completing cost reports and the on time and making sure they are monitored.
* To understand, implement and adhere to the company’s SHEQ policy/strategy.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
* Experience within a surveying position reporting to either a commercial manager or director, with a proven track record working closely with key members from the client
* Experience working with a local authority client or social housing with residents
* Refurbishment of live blocks
* Experience and knowledge of NEC contracts
* Driving License
