GOODS IN AND YARDS OPERATIVE
MONDAY TO FRIDAY
£11.30 PER HOUR
8AM - 4PM
I am recruiting for a global client who is on the lookout for their next Goods In and Yard Operative. You will have worked in the Goods in and Out area and have a great understanding of what this part of the business looks like so will be a great match for this role.
As a Goods In and Yard Operator you will process goods coming in from delivery and liaise with the warehouse teams on priority orders.
You will have either a valid Counterbalance or Reach FLT License as you will need on occasion to unload the deliveries.
A driving License is required for this role as you will be moving between sites with stock.
This role is primarily to receive raw materials, packing materials and other ordered items, book them on to the company ERP system and store them in the allocated areas or sites.
The candidate will also need to transfer packaging materials from site to site using the company van.
They may also be required to complete some production tasks such as manufacturing de-ionized water, relabelling products and helping other manufacturing areas with their packing requirements.
The role also requires the operator to keep the main yard, external racking and storage areas in good condition, tidy the area weekly, arrange for pallet collections and liaise with our waste disposal contractor for skip collections.
The Role includes
Carrying out Goods Inwards duties efficiently with the minimum of supervision.
Maintaining a high degree of accuracy during the picking and packing process
Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace whilst keeping the area secure.
Complete all picking and packing operations as required.
Ensure all products handled in accordance with relevant quality, environment and health and safety procedures and fulfilling customer requirements.
The ability to work carefully and follow instructions
The ability to concentrate during periods of repetitive work
Quick reactions to deal with immediate problems
An understanding of health and safety requirements
Identifying substandard or defective products and reporting these to the Team Leader or QC team.You
Will have a valid Counterbalance AND/OR Reach FLT License
Good general understanding of English, both verbal and written.
A good level of fitness
Good communication and team working skills
Able to develop and support individuals and teams as required.
Must be flexible i.e. can work with changes in start / finish times and work weekend overtime as requested (occasionally 1 - 2 times per month)Hours of work
40 hours per week, worked between 8 am and 4 pm Monday to Friday, with a 30 minute paid lunch-break to be taken to suit the business requirements. Additional break time can be taken as unpaid time but must be made up as part of the employee's weekly hours.
