Role: Test Lead
Location: Guildford
Hybrid: Remote first with a couple of visits per quarter
Salary: up to £55,000

We are looking for an ambitious Test Lead ready to step into a cross-functional team to work on building software to make a difference to their customers.

Championing the benefits that software testing adds you will be the subject matter expert in your area and lead a small team of testers to increase confidence in the software.

This is an ideal role for someone with lead or mentorship experience that is ready to take the next step in their career progression.

You will be responsible for the mentorship of a small but growing team, someone who will work with all other leads and plan strategies. You will liaise regularly with key stakeholders working on new products and be comfortable jumping in and being hands-on where needed.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Ensure the testing team have the tools and understanding to deliver the criteria set
Hands-On testing when required
Reduce risk and increase confidence in the software
Audit the work of others
Onboard new team members
Gather requirements, provide estimates and communicate effectively
What were are looking for:

Experience managing or mentoring team members
Experience with manual and automation testing of web applications
Comfortable creating test specifications from requirements
Good understanding of SQL and CSS
Experience with testing APIs
Working with defect management systems
Experience writing Cucumber test scripts (desirable)
Experience in test strategy
Working for a customer-focused web application this role provides clients with vital feedback that helps them elevate their services.

For the Test Lead my client can offer a salary of up to £55,000 and the opportunity to work remotely predominantly with occasional visits to their Guildford office.
