Job Title: Support Worker for SEMH School

Location: Leigh, Greater Manchester

Salary: £75.89 - £95.89 per day

Contract Type: Temporary with possibility of permanent contract

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking experienced and compassionate Support Workers to join our team in supporting students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs at a school in Leigh, Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will be working with children aged 5-16 years old and will need to have the necessary skills and experience to help them achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

Supporting students with SEMH needs both inside and outside of the classroom.
Using your knowledge of de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour.
Helping students to develop social and emotional skills through positive reinforcement and guidance.
Building positive relationships with students and their families, as well as other members of the school community.
Working collaboratively with the teaching staff and other support workers to provide the best possible outcomes for the students.Requirements:

Minimum of 6 months experience working with children with SEMH needs.
Valid MAPA qualification desirable not essential as training can be given.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.This is a temporary position with the possibility of a permanent contract for the right candidate.
