Are you a kind and caring English Literature teacher looking to make a real difference? 

An Ofsted rated  ‘Good’ Secondary School in Peterlee is looking for a English Literature teacher to join their smaller than usual school. The school prides itself on being a nurturing environment and having a holistic approach to education and pastoral care. 

The head teacher would like to hear from candidates that are driven and a proven track record of securing successful outcomes and attainment in English Literature. Candidates that have a real passion for their subject and have effective behaviour management are a must!
The main duties will include:

Planning, teaching and assessing the English Literature
Be confident teaching KS3 and KS4 English Literature
Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids and school supplies as needed 
Following the school behaviour management policy effectively
Promoting independence
Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care
Be responsible for the attainment of pupils
Be responsible for individualised learning plans for pupils with SEND and SEMHThe ideal candidate will:

Hold Qualified Teaching Status
Have a degree in subject area
Be passionate about their subject area
ECT’s are welcome
Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with ourselves)
