Design Engineer - Full Time - Netherley , United Kingdom

 Join our Sulzer Services Alba Power team in Scotland as Design Engineer to help us take our component design engineering to the next level. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast moving, hands-on engineering team in a small but growing business within a large corporation. Alba Power is the leading Independent Service Provider for overhauling Rolls Royce aerderivative gas turbines and at the forefront of the service growth strategy within Sulzer. 

In this role you will be accountable for:

The creation of specifications, failure investigation reports, design reports, drawings and part lists. 
Investigating part wear, failure and end of life. 
Specifying overhaul plans and determine useability of parts. 
Qualify repaired and new manufactured parts for duty.
Employ 3D scanning and CAD tools to build models and drawings of parts and systems. 
Design upgrades and life extensions for high speed hot turbine and combustor components.   

To succeed in this role, you will need:

Mechanical Engineering Degree with post graduate engineering work experience in a Gas Turbine organisation. 
Design Engineering experience including CAD. 
Good interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with an ability to form effective relationships and work collaboratively with others under time pressure. 
Great customer focus and solution oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
Analytical and structured approach to tasks.

Location: We are a well-established and progressive workshop based in Netherley, Aberdeenshire. You will be joining a team of 80 experienced and knowledgeable employees, working on a variety of gas turbine and power turbine models from our purpose built facilities.
