THE COMPANY

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an accomplished procurement and supply chain leader to make a significant contribution to the strategic and operational development of this long-standing and highly respected engineering Group. With the business going through an exciting growth phase, a first-class Procurement and Supply Chain Manager is required to take the team to the next level, driving excellence across all procurement and supply chain activities.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the FD and a member of the management team, your key responsibilities will be as follows:

* Lead, coach and develop the Procurement, Supply Chain and Stores teams, supporting the business in achieving successful, cost-effective project delivery

* Monitor and control all business spend delivering improved efficiencies, cost reduction and added value

* Review current practices and supplier base, implementing new systems and processes which deliver enhanced commercial outcomes

* Play a lead role in managing supplier and subcontractor performance, dealing positively with issues and resolutions

* Support the commercial and estimating teams in competitive tendering activity

* Ensure all services are compliant with HSEQ and relevant legislation

* Work collaboratively across the business to drive positive procurement best practice change and transformation initiatives

THE PERSON

* A talented procurement and supply chain leader or an “up and coming” senior buyer, ideally CIPS qualified, with a track record of “getting things done” in a project based, safety critical engineering environment

* A background in marine, renewables, energy, subsea, aerospace, defence, construction or other associated engineering disciplines would be of special interest

* Skilled in managing subcontract, suppliers and supply chain frameworks, ensuring suitable partners are in place to support bid, tender and project activities

* Expertise in working collaboratively with the Estimating and Bid teams supporting pre-contract competitive tendering processes

* Commercially and contractually astute, a strong negotiator with first class knowledge of modern procurement and supply chain best practice

* An excellent communicator and relationship builder, engaging effectively with key stakeholders to ensure positive cross-functional collaboration
