HR Business Partner
£375/Day
Initial 3-Month contract with a view to extend
Location: Barnet, London
Hybrid working

Purpose of Job:

* Acting as a trusted strategic partner, supporting senior leadership teams across the Council, while working in partnership with HR colleagues in Barnet and in partner organisations.

* To provide clear strategic HR advice on effective management approaches to change management, organisational design, employee engagement, and supporting the services in meeting their KPIs and delivering to the Corporate Plan and Priorities

* Commission the Recruitment Manager on Strategic and Operational Recruitment Activity, and provide strategic oversight of recruitment and succession planning across the council to key internal and external stakeholders

* To provide strategic and supportive HR interventions which support the HR service, including mentoring HR staff and senior managers across the council

* Work closely with the Head of Employee Relations & Reward to deliver and implement new programmes and initiatives

* Work closely with the Head of Organisational Development to ensure that learning interventions are timely, relevant, supportive and utilise the best practice in HR and that Learning and Development plans and strategies reflect service and organisational priorities. Provide expert advice on complex or contentious employee relation cases

Experience Required:

CIPD or equivalent qualification (level 7) or relevant HR experience at an appropriate level.
Experience in Local Authorities/Public Sector Organisations
Experienced HR Professional with proven track record as an HR Generalist, Employee Relations, Organisation Design, Resourcing, and/ or Learning and Development
In depth understanding of HR policy and legislation and aspects of equality and diversity
Broad knowledge of external developments and emerging best practice in HR Business Partnering, HR and diversity
Experience of working with Trade Unions
