Job Title: Finance Manager - Investment Appraisal

Location: Edinburgh

Salary: £67,000 - £72,000 + bonus 16-32%, 38 days holiday, 10% pension

Type: Permanent

A FTSE 100 Insurance Company with an office based in Edinburgh is recruiting a Finance Manager - Investment Appraisals join their finance team on a permanent basis. The main focus of the role is to provide advice on investment appraisals and investment appraisal projects across the business.

Responsibilities:

Reviewing investment appraisals across different portfolios
Reviewing how the business allocates its capital across different projects
Deciding which investment projects should be engaged with across the business
Embedding cost governance to decision making processes across Investment Appraisal projects
Challenging the business on its project spend for work done around investment appraisals
Making sure project sign off is aligned with strategic objectives and financial hurdle rates
Producing a pack in order to get senior leadership forum approval
Providing technical accounting and regulatory reporting support across the finance department
Producing quality departmental updates to Board
Co-ordinate KPI, risk and control reporting across the team to ensure high performance

Experience and attributes required:

Qualified Accountant - Essential
Experience of Investment Appraisals - Essential
Strong experience of managing senior stakeholders - Essential
Experience of working in an insurance company - Desirable
