Our client designs, manufactures and supports world leading military vehicles. The business is currently preparing for an exciting period of growth ahead of key armoured vehicle programmes for the UK MOD. We are now looking for proactive individuals with a willingness to lead and integrate into large engineering development programmes.
This is a unique opportunity to become part of the team developing, integrating and testing one of the most revered and battle-proven armoured vehicles in the world. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
RBSL are growing the Safety Engineering capabilities and are now seeking experienced Engineers with a real passion for Safety to join the team. If you are an experienced Engineer within the defence environment, or have experience of armoured vehicles, then this could be the ideal role for you. As a Safety Engineer at RBSL, you will be identifying and analysing potential hazards and risks with the design and operation of military vehicles, then supporting the systems, trials, design, and sub-system teams to ensure those risks are minimised. You will be working with both internal and external stakeholders across all engineering and project disciplines, using modern engineering techniques and toolsets. You will have a willingness to examine and investigate issues, and a desire to ensure that equipment is safe. WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
Experience with the design and/or operation of armoured fighting vehicles.
Experience of safety engineering within a vehicle and/or defence environment.
Engineering degree or ONC/HNC or equivalent experience in Engineering.
Working knowledge of MOD Safety & Environmental Management Systems.
Understanding of MoD safety management activities and processes (e.g. DSA01.1, DSA02.DLSR, DEF STAN 00-051, 00-055, 00-056 and the ALARP process).
A good working knowledge of hazard management tools.
Experience of carrying out safety analyses.
Knowledge or experience of one of the following would be beneficial: • Functional Safety (IEC 61508) • Accident analysis • Supplier safety management
