Experienced Production Supervisor / Team Leader required for our globally operating, precision manufacturing company, based at their plant in South Nottingham working predominantly on Sunday to Thursday Night shift.

As Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safety, quality and productivity of the CNC production areas and ensure that on-time delivery is achieved whilst maintaining costs to the budget plans. You will bring your knowledge and skills to engage your team to drive continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma and other principles such as SPC and DMAIC to ensure the optimal utilisation of employees, equipment and material against quality, timeliness and cost.

As a successful candidate you will work the following shifts over a 4 week period:   

Night shifts.

3 weeks of Sun 11pm to 6am, and Mon to Thurs 10pm to 6am
And for the 4th week

Mornings = Mon to Thurs 6am – 2pm and Fri 6am -1pm
The 4th week on mornings is to assist in the communication across different shifts and so you feel connected to the rest of the company who are mainly working days.

Base salary is dependent on experience + Night shift premium of +20% (when on nights)

Role:

To plan and manage the daily operation of your CNC production areas
Provide / assist with any required training to your team
Communicate across different shifts and departments
Review department performance against metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
Communicate to team effectively so they understand their part in achieving department targets
Ensure Standard Work practices are followed and recommend improvements where necessary
Required skills of Production Supervisor / Team Leader :

Ideally, 3+ years experience working as a supervisor/ team leader within a manufacturing environment. Advantageous if experience from a CNC background.
Experienced with 121`s / appraisals and disciplinaries if required
Experience of working in a Lean / CI production environment
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate across different departments and level of management
Problem solving experience using root cause analysis/six sigma etc
