Groundsman to Arborist, Tree Surgeon

Salary £26,000 to £28,000

You will be an essential member of a small Arboriculture Team in this industry leading Tree Care and Landscape company. You probably have a year or more experience as a Groundsman supporting Arborist Climbers and will hold CS 30 and 31 Certificates or equivalent. You will be professional and work to the highest standard both in terms of safety and quality.

Our client is an established and award-winning Tree Care and Landscaping contractor with a proven track record in delivering Commercial installation and maintenance projects.

The Job:

This role is based at the company’s office, near to Newbury and will provide a wide range of tree-related works for commercial & public sector clients, throughout Berkshire. The principal duties will centre on supporting the Climbers on the ground as they carry out tree pruning, dismantling & felling. The role will include ground-based chainsaw work, clearing cut material, running the chipper, assisting the Climbers and maintaining site H&S.

The Person:

You will have at least a years’ experience as a Groundsman and have an understanding of current industry best practice in Arboriculture and Tree Surgery together with some knowledge of tree disease and defects. You should have a positive attitude towards Health & Safety regulations and the nature of the work requires candidates to hold the relevant industry qualifications: NPTC certificates: 201(CS30), 202(CS31) and NPTC Level 2 certification in the safe use of a manually fed wood chipper or equivalent. A current Driving Licence is essential and experience in towing would be an advantage
