ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT - GERMAN SPEAKING

UP TO £35,000 p/a

Hamilton Woods Associates have been retained by a leading multinational fastener distribution company who are currently looking for an experienced German Speaking Accounts assistant to join their accounting team.

The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for German customer credit control & Debtor quires; therefore, fluent command of German and English is essential, the role also includes purchase ledger duties for the UK and cover for German branches.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Sales ledger

Responsible for approximately 400 live accounts, covering predominantly the German market
Booking of the payments received on to the accounting system
Chasing outstanding debt via phone and email
Building strong relationships both internally and externally
Minimising aged debt
Resolving queries quickly and efficiently
Keeping billing queries to a minimum
Credit checking new accounts and setting them up on the accounting software
Ongoing monitoring of existing customers
Recommending accounts to be put on stop or closed
Posting of customer invoices & raising monthly consolidated invoicesPurchase ledger

Invoice processing
Statement reconciliation
Processing expense requests
Maintaining the company purchase ledger
Banks reconciliations
Liaising with third party providers, clients and suppliers
Basic administrationExperience & Skills:

Fluency in both German and English languages
knowledge of basic accounting including double entry bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable experience
Commercial credit control experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
