Russell Taylor group has an exciting opportunity for a technical expert to join a Global Third-Party Testing Company. This role provides an opportunity for technical leadership to ensure that methodologies remain current and up to date. The Role

Providing technical expertise within DNA based medicine. Incorporating both oligonucleotides and RNA based material for the design of study and the scientific integrity of multiple analytical projects.
Providing strategic direction to ensure the services provided remain the best possible within the biopharmaceutical industries.
Leading R&D activities within the team to produce publishable material and presentations at industry events.
Ensuring all quality management documentation is completed within a certain time frame
Critically reviewing project reports in an efficient manner whilst accurately interpreting data and compliance
Providing the lab manager with assistance with regards to developing training plans for each member of the team
Carrying out briefings at the start and end of each project, explaining the context of the project and how they may be improved upon in the future.

The Person

Must have a strong understanding of oligonucleotides and RNA.
Must have in depth understanding of the following:
A successful candidate will have relevant experience in one of the following:
LC-MS, including HRMS for elucidation of intact mass, sequencing, modification, capping efficiency, and poly A tail distribution
NGS for sequencing
Experience of chromatography and spectroscopic methods
Potency assays
qPCR techniques/ddPCR
Must be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of methods whilst always putting the needs of the client first
Having previous experience of method development
Being able to troubleshoot any issues and source solutions. Portraying these to clients and other members of the business in a simplistic way
Must be able to manage their time effectively
Have good written and verbal communication. The ideal candidate will be IT literate with good use of all the Microsoft applications
Must have supervisor experience within the lab
