We're looking for a talented Conventional Grinder Setter / Operator / Manual Grinder with experience of machining components in exotic materials for a permanent role for our client in Skelmersdale / Wigan area. £14.00 - £15.50/hr (dependent on experience and qualifications).

The client may also consider a Manual Turner, who can be trained up internally.

The basic working week is 40 hours/week (Mon - Fri days - 8am - 4.30pm) plus possible O/T.

The Role:

Based in Skelmersdale, as the Conventional Grinding Setter / Operator you will be primarily responsible for setting and operating a conventional grinder.

In the job you'll be tasked with the following:

Setting / running conventional Cylindrical Grinders
Setting / running Bore Grinders
Setting / running Surface Grinders
Establishing tool requirementsThe standard working hours for this position are Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:30 or shifts where deemed required.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this Conventional Grinding Setter / Operator role will have relevant experience of establishing tool requirements.

You'll also need experience of being able to set / run conventional Cylindrical Grinders, Bore Grinders & Surface Grinders.

The client may also consider a Manual Turner who can be trained up internally or candidates who possess proven conventional grinding experience, whether that be substantial retrospective experience or demonstrable recent experience of performing the role.

In addition, you'll need the following:

The ability to read and understand drawings
Must be time served

The Package:

Basic salary: £14 - £15.50 per hour

Overtime: You'll also have the opportunity to earn overtime in this role (1.33x for mid-week and Sat O/T & 1.5x for Sun O/T).
