White label Recruitment are pleased to be working with an extremely reputable and market leading manufacturing company based in Bolton. They have been established for over 16 years, have a very busy order book and are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer.

Due to a growing order book, and the development of new products, the company is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their busy and growing mechanical design department.

The role of Mechanical Design Engineer is as follows:

The role will incorporate concept through to installation involvement including trial builds and prototyping of new designs, providing feedback to the design team.

Key responsibilities:

• Ownership of design deliverables to a given specification

• Material selection for key aspects of the product

• Work alone or within a small, multi-disciplined team to deliver the required product

• Willingness to interact with other departments to enable DFM

• Communicate with Suppliers and customers to provide best design, manufacturability and cost-effective solutions

• Delivery of the required Design data for use at all stages of the manufacture, assembly, and installation

Skills & Experience:

• Mechanical Engineering qualified to HNC level as a minimum

• Engineering background and understanding of delivering design packages with the production of Details, Sub-assemblies, assemblies’ data

• Proficient in 3D design software (Solidworks preferable)

• PDM knowledge an advantage

• Knowledge of Sheetmetal fabrication, and tolerancing

• Understanding of plastic component creation an advantage

• Appreciation of Electrical and Electronic components

• Design processes and best practice

• FEA & CFD knowledge an advantage, but not essential
