Experienced Senior Project Manager required by the South Coast office of this busy main contractor to take the lead role on a £40m DfE secondary school project in Fareham, Hampshire.
This scheme is currently in second stage preconstruction and will commence on site later in the year for a 2.5 year programme of phased works - these comprise construction of a temporary school, the decant and demolition of the existing buildings, the new build of the secondary school and a further decant plus refurbishment several listed buildings on site. Overall completion is planned for early 2026.
As Senior Project Manager for the scheme you will be responsible for managing it through the preconstruction phase through to financial close and start on site, then construction of all phases though to handover.
You will lead your team holding ultimate responsibility for client liaison, design development, construction methodology and programming of works, the smooth and timely progress of construction on site, safety and quality, plus budgetary control of the project through to final handover.
About the Company/Client/Project:
The client is the busy regional office of a national main contractor, with a turnover in excess of £100m, with secured workload in the education, commercial, healthcare, local authority sectors in the Hampshire and Wiltshire areas.
Projects range in size from £15m to £40m, secured through a mixture of national and regional frameworks, negotiated schemes with repeat clients and competitive tenders. There is a good pipeline of future work in the South Coast region well into 2025/6
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
You will ideally be an experienced Senior / Project Manager with a proven track record within a major contracting organisation, able to deliver design & build schemes up to £3om+ in value.
Key attributes will include excellent client, design team and site team management ability, technical, contractual and commercial knowledge, plus focus and drive.
