BAM Construction are recruiting a Assistant Planner. The role is part office based at our offices in Hemel Hempstead, and site based on projects in the Southern Home Counties.
Your mission
•Identifying and selecting the appropriate techniques & sequence of events for each project.
•Analysing sites & local environments to determine appropriate logistics solutions & resources.
•Using specialist planning computer software including Elecosoft PowerProject.
•Preparing logistics plans including awareness of 4D.
•Writing method statements, incorporating graphics.
•Risk and opportunity analysis. Implementing recovery strategies.
•Calculating production outputs, draw up and present plans / programmes.
•Scheduling labour, equipment, temporary works, scaffold schedule design information requirements procurement and other pre-construction activities for each tender or project.
•Work closely with the Estimating department to exchange key information for preliminaries pricing.
•Monitoring progress throughout the construction process & comparing this with the planned programme.
•Reporting findings & recommending solutions to recover delays.
•Recording relevant events for potential entitlement claims.
•Using graphics and narratives to reflect progress, event impacts and forecasts.
•Assist with the preparation of presentation material and presentations to various teams.
•Assist with the development of tender submission responses to meet tender deliverable requirements.
•Commitment to safe working and understanding BAM Health and Safety policies.
Who are we looking for?
•Experience of working for a Main Contractor
•An energetic, proactive, hands-on, confident and self-motivated approach
•An understanding of planning processes & activities
•Proficient experience in software use including MS products and Elecosoft Powerproject
•Some knowledge in simple 3D / 4D modelling
•Knowledge of general construction techniques and methods
•Exceptional time management and organisation skills.
•Health & Safety qualification and training (CSCS + SMSTS)
•Relevant Degree qualification
•Excellent communication skills, ability to work within a team environment or as an individual
