Apply on Partner SiteProtec Fire and Security Group have an opportunity, at our Head Office in Nelson, Lancashire, for a Security Systems Design Engineer.
The purpose of the role is to undertake the design and estimating of Security System installations, generally incorporating but not limited to Intruder Alarm Systems, Access Control, Intercom Systems and CCTV. You will be required to assist the Regional Sales Engineers through technical design support, surveys, client meetings and the production of Quotations, Tender and Technical Submissions.
Responsibilities
* Design of Security systems in accordance with relevant National Security Inspectorate standards.
* Produce accurate quotations in accordance with both the client requirements as well as National Security Inspectorate standards.
* Layout design and configuration of security detection devices and associated equipment.
* Coordinate layout of equipment with other M&E services and architectural/structural features.
* Liaise with Sales Manager/Sales Engineers throughout the design process.
* Internal checking of design drawings.
* System architecture – developing system schematic diagrams.
* Preparation of design documentation ready for the projects department.
* Any other duties commensurate with the role.
Qualifications
A full Electrical based qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC, HNC etc
Experience
* Working knowledge of current British Standards
* Experience within a similar role on large multi-service projects
* Experience of system installation
Skills/Abilities
* Ability to produce and read technical drawings and specifications
* An excellent eye for detail
* Ability to work with a variety of contractors, architects and other personnel
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
* Creative thinking with the ability to see and implement practical solutions
* Proficient using Microsoft computer packages Including Excel, Word, Access and Outlook
* Knowledge of Bluebeam software

* A full and valid driving licence
