Youth Offending Social Worker/ Probation Officer South Wales 3 month contract pending permanent recruitment Pay rate up to £39.69 per hour subject to experience   A South Wales local authority are looking for a social worker or probation officer to join their Youth Offending Service pending the appointment of a permanent worker. The post will be soon be going to advert so expected duration is 3 months. Applications will be accepted from both full and part time candidates. The role will offer hybrid working and you will be expected to travel county wide.   To be considered for this role you will have an understanding of the criminal justice system as it affects children and young people (aged 10 –17) who offend; a practical understanding of the principles of restorative justice and restorative approaches, have experience of working with disaffected children and young people and able to evidence building positive relationships with young people. You will have experience of undertaking assessments and managing complex cases, in addition to planning appropriate and targeted interventions to reduce the risk of offending/re-offending. You will also have the ability to write high quality reports including preparing sentencing proposals and will present information to the Courts when required. Your caseload will predominantly be preventative work and 30% statutory. Knowledge of asset plus is essential.   Benefits of working for Hoop:
