MECHANICAL FITTER / PANEL WIRER - ST HELENS - £27-30k Salary DoE - ELECTRICAL PARTS MANUFACTURER

The Mechanical Fitter/Wireman role is part of the Assembly Team with. The primary function of the role is to be responsible for the assembly and fitting of mechanical and electrical components according to instruction and issued engineering drawings for the company product. Reporting to the Factory manager

Duties and responsibilities:

Receive and maintaining the "in process inspection sheets" for each piece of equipment signing off at each stage of build the status and documenting its efficacy.
To liaise with engineering in the resolution of problems relating to fit or function.
Assembly and fitting of mechanical parts/fitting and wiring of control box assemblies.
Inspection of Main Fabrications.
Support packing of main contracts including weights and measurements.
To return to stores all non-conforming parts for modification in conjunction with Goods Inwards
Works in a safe manner at all times ensuring H&S requirements for the area are met.
Reporting of non-conformance via the quality systems in place.
Perform mechanical/electrical duties as required.
Support the Factory manager/Production Manager in daily activities and provide regular contract updates.
Support in off-site installations.Qualifications:

Time served mechanical apprenticeship
ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering. (equivalent experience will be considered)
Previous experience in a similar role./knowledge of HV electrical switchgear useful.
Excellent communication skills both verbally and electronically.
Analytical & Problem Solving skills.
Good knowledge of electrical regulations.
Proficient in reading and understanding mechanical and electrical drawings.
Teamwork and collaboration.
Ability to work under pressure.
Excellent customer service skills.
Commercially aware.
