About the Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will assist the commercial team in providing support to the contract delivery team to ensure the profitability, cash management, cost control and accurate reporting of all schemes. Your role will require you to:

* Input into the application and credit control processes

* Understanding of income forecast and pricing of variations

* Understanding of the change control system

* Understanding of project risk

* Understanding of the production of CVRs

* Understanding of CTC

* Understanding the production of forecasting data

* Understanding the costing process

* Understanding the management of the full sub-contract cycle and input into sub-contract documentation

* Assisting with weekly cost to complete/budget reviews with the contract delivery teams.

* Upload documentation as and when necessary, in line with business requirements

* Review weekly site records including allocation sheets and site diaries.

* Attend project progress meetings.

* Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial performance reports

* Gain experience outside of the commercial function to better understand the role of the business and the quantity surveyor within the business.

* Working with the commercial and operational teams to strive for continuous improvement.

* Commitment to their own professional development, and that of others across the Business Unit

* Other tasks appropriate to the role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor, as identified by the Quantity Surveyor/Managing Surveyor

Qualifications

* Degree educated or HND/HNC equivalent

* Working towards Professional Qualification

* Suitable post degree experience working in contracting commercial department preferably within the Highways industry

* Knowledge of and ability to interpret construction industry conditions of contract

* COINS
