Apply on Partner SiteManufacturing Futures are looking to appoint a proactive Master Production Scheduler for a fast paced manufacturing business based in Bradford. They’re a great company known for treating people well, training their staff, and have a full order book and are on an exciting growth journey.
This is a new business critical role reporting to the General Manager. You will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of existing and future manufacturing schedules, delivering Logistics Management activities and to ensure customer programmes are met in a timely manner. This is a hands role in a very fast paced and demanding environment, so it’s essential you can work with various stakeholders (internal and external) to successfully accomplish the tasks at hand.
Master Production Scheduler - Role and Responsibilities - MRP / Planning / Manufacturing / Scheduling / Planner
Ensure the timely and cost effective provisioning of parts from suppliers overseas (China, Europe) and UK suppliers and internal services.
Proactively manage the production schedule to identify, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, roadblocks or issues which could delay production - missing orders, products, manufacturing, delivery dates, etc… how can you catch up, or reallocate labour if something affects the plan?
Define and control the detailed manufacturing plan such that inventory and work-in progress are maintained at minimum levels consistent within a lean manufacturing facility, ensuring parts in stock / on site meet demanding production schedules.
Provide written and verbal information on the status of the plan and achievements to date, using management reporting techniques.
Raise production orders / work orders for the factory on a day-to-day basis to ensure parts and labour there for the fitting / assembly.
Tactically manage collaborative and preferred suppliers of bought out items, in order that material flows satisfy programme requirements whilst minimising stock levels.
Strong financial reporting and management. Need to have a great grasp on financial reporting to ensure timely current and future invoicing - report up the chain on cash.
Attend and contribute to review meetings i.e. Production, Forward Planning Sessions, Supplier Reviews, Cross Functional Sessions.
Contribute to the implementation of proposed task directive changes, new or amended orders, regarding their effect on inventory and programme.
Master Production Scheduler - Skills and Abilities - MRP / Planning / Manufacturing / Scheduling / Planner
At least five years’ experience in a Planning or Scheduling focused role
Previous work history at a manufacturing company
Ability to work with Excel whilst transitioning to new MRP system
