Commissioning Engineer

Kendal site (with UK & Overseas travel)

* 40 hours, flexible start & finish times

* Core hours, Mon - Fri, 9.30am - 12:30pm & 2pm - 4:30pm

Salary:
£42,000 up to £52,000 pa (Dependant on Experience)

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Commissioning Engineer to join the team in the hydro department for one of our well established engineering manufacturers based in the Kendal, Cumbria area.

Qualifications:
Any individual wishing to apply for this position must hold a minimum BEng, electrically biased.

Your role as an Commissioning Engineer will include, but not be limited:

* Attend site to test and commission new or refurbished hydro equipment

* Provide electrical expertise into the design, project and sales teams

* PID controller tuning

* Use PLC and HMI software to programme and test control systems

* Programme AVRs for optimum turbine power generation

* Prepare and control philosophies in accordance with client expectations

* Check schematic drawings & layouts, to ensure correct manufacturing

* Attending supplier Factory Acceptance Tests. Create cable schedules, test documentation and commissioning procedures.

* Commission electrical instrumentation and control equipment on site both in the UK and overseas. Creating documents for validation of machine performance and handover to customers

Commissioning Engineer require being able to use the following equipment:

* Instrumentation including; level sensors, position transducers, limit switches, pressure sensors, temperature and vibration sensors

* Electric (Rotork, Exlar, RTK etc) and hydraulic actuators

* Hydraulic Control Module & Hydraulically actuators

* Main pipeline isolation valve

* Generator and AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator)

* Control panel including HMI interface

* PLC Control (typically Allen Bradley software)

* Switchgear panel including ACB (Air Circuit Breaker)

* SCADA communications systems
