Climate17 are partnered exclusively with a specialist Solar PV engineering company who provide an expert engineering consultancy service for the development and design phase, EPC & construction support during the build phase and a range of advanced testing & inspection services and life extension project delivery capabilities for the operational phase of Solar farms.

Role

Our client is looking for a motivated, hardworking & passionate individual to join their testing team with a view to eventually head up the majority of our clients' testing needs, including Electroluminescence & Flash testing, site assessments, surveying and digitalisation services to meet our clients and the market's needs.

Responsibilities

Project & assignment preparation (organising resources, accommodation & RAMS)
Transportation & operation of the mobile test laboratory
Operation of in-situ Electroluminescence tripod systems (EL image gathering)
Data uploading & sorting and formulation of engineering reports
Conduct other testing & inspections as and where appropriate
Contribute to the team in any other value-adding way
Provide innovative ideas on how the compnay can add further value to our clients
preparing for upcoming assignments, processing data, compiling reports, calculations etc.
Requirements

Relevant Solar PV experience - in particular, knowledge on solar module technologies, performance, deterioration phenomena's, typical defects, the relationship between temperature and power output.
Comfortable working extensive periods away from home.
Comfortable working occasional nightshifts for the in-situ EL testing (which needs to be done at night).
Comfortable in towing, hitching up trailers, mobile generator operation, test equipment care & maintenance.
Able to grasp technical procedural tasks, whilst being able to conduct repetitive tasks without loosing the passion for the job.
Computer literate, data entry & collation, downloading & uploading files & documents.

Experience of solar scale solar farm installation, operations and/or maintenance.
C&G Inspection & Testing (2391 or equivalent) & 18th Edition
CSCS card as well as SMSTS or IOSH Health & Safety qualification
Knowledge of Solar PV, Modules & Renewables is essential
Full UK driving licence. Ideally experience in towing (endorsed on driving licence)
Professional competence in Microsoft Office suite (including excel & Teams)
Any experience in thermography (IR), drone operation and an in-depth understanding of solar (DC) circuitry, will be significantly advantageous.
Location: Somerset-area plus frequent UK travel
