Cherry professional are working with an up and coming accountancy practice in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their Nottingham based finance team.
This role comes has great scope and will be able to grow with time as you embed into the company. You will also be responsible for assisting with mentoring junior members of staff.
This role stems from organic growth within the company and a high priority for this client is preserving the feel good atmosphere and team connection which has been cultivated so far.

Role: Senior Accountant
Location: Nottingham
Salary: Up to £45,000

The opportunity:
- Management of a full set of client companies accounts from sole traders to limited companies with up to a few million in revenue.
- Preparing financial statements and statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
- Preparation of personal and corporate tax computations and returns.
- Providing management accounting support to clients when required.
- Filing Companies House and HM Revenue & Customs documents on client's behalf.
- Ensuring that accounting records for clients are maintained and kept up to date.
- Dealing with the preparation and completion of VAT returns.
- Support with the mentoring and training of junior members of the team including sign off of their work.
- Manage the existing client database effectively and support with any ad hoc support needed, both in person and remotely.
- Support with the on-boarding of new clients.
 
For this role, you will need to be:
- Either ACA/ACCA qualified or possessing significant experience in accountancy practices.
- Previous experience producing full client accounts within a practice setting.
- Effective team player and sociable.
- Good excel and accounts software skills.
