Apply on Partner SitePertemps Stoke are currently looking to recruit Senior Children's Residential Workers to join a well-established company who own several Children's Residential homes in the Staffordshire area.
To support their ongoing development plans we are looking for suitably qualified and experienced Residential Support Workers to join their team.
You will be part of a team working with children aged between 7 and 17 years. You will provide a nurturing and positive homely environment whilst building long lasting relationships with the children in your care. You will create a bespoke and friendly atmosphere ensuring all care needs are met whilst always safeguarding the child.
Main duties of a Senior Children's Residential Worker:
Providing support to children who may have been subject to abuse, neglect or other complex issues
Promoting the skills required to lead productive adult lives once the children leave care
In the absence of the shift leader, you will be expected to lead the shift
Day to day duties of the home, such as: cleaning, cooking, laundry, school runs and planning and attending holidays and trips
Support and advise the less experienced members of the team
To know and follow complaints procedures, reporting complaints of untoward occurrences to management
Ensure medical and dental appointments are arranged and attended
Complete all paperwork, keeping file sup to date
Undertaking keyworker roles and being responsible for the welfare of specific children
Prepare and participate in care plans and reviews
Maintaining daily records accurately
Teaching mutual respect for peers and staff
Provide a stimulating environment for children and participate and encourage activities
Liaise with families and other outside agencies to understand the needs of the child
Support the management team with the smooth running of the home
What we are looking for in a Senior Children's Residential Worker:
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare
Level 3 Children & Young peoples workforce Diploma with social care pathway
NVQ 3 caring for children & young people
NVQ 3 Health & social care
Driving license with no more than 6 points
Flexible to cover a 4 on 4 off shift pattern
A caring and nurturing personality
Enhanced DBS check is required (Paid for by the employer)
Happy to move amongst the homes within the company where needed, This could include Stafford, Buxton or Eccleshall
