Apply on Partner SiteRMS are working with a industry-leading client in the Nottingham area who specialise in the Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain and Storage. We are Looking for a Wail Wagon Technician/Welder to help deliver a scheduled maintenance plan ensuring their rail fleet of approximately 200 wagons are fully complaint with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Location: Toton, stapleford.

About the role:
Rail Technicians are responsible for providing maintenance on site and at satellite locations for Rail Wagons to ensure all wagons are serviceable and compliant to travel mainline.
Viewing wagons in accordance with MAN-Ra and inspector’s handbook.
Record findings on traffic inspection sheets.
Update pad with a direct link to DT in France
Undertake any repairs arising from above inspections.
Communicate with Rail Haulier when wagons required to be stopped or moved to the repair location on site.
Liaise with TS Team Leader when required.
Plan repairs such as welding repairs, to minimise disruption to operations.
Liaise with local management and FMC supervisors in a difficult environment.
Review spares and components needed and report to TS Team Leader / Administrator
Measurement of Wheel sets and forward of Information / documentation to TS.
Undertake refurbishment / repair of Chocks and reporting of work done
Wheelsets
Work as part of a Team undertaking Wagon Wheelset Changes as required.
Assist with loading / unloading of Wheelsets as required.
Liaison /organisation of wagons for Maintenance requirements
Carry out brake tests and completion of documentation as required.
Undertake any other tasks as requested by TS Management.
This role will suit a hands-on engineer ideally from a rail background. We are looking for a self starter with management experience and an Engineering degree (or possibly HNC/HND plus experience).
About You:
All applicants must hold a valid driver’s license with less than 6 penalty points and no DR offences
The Ideal applicant must hold a accredited welding certificate
The Ideal applicant must hold a Personal Track Safety (PTS) Certification
The Ideal applicant must be competent in engineering/technicanl skills
The Ideal applicant must be good at problem solving and working under pressure.
The ideal applicant must be able to work own iniative and have positive communication with other team members and cutomers.
