Title: Manufacturing Engineer 1 Yr FTC

Salary: Dependent on experience

Working hours: Day Shift, Monday - Friday

Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire

Our client, a unique global engineering organisation are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their dynamic team on a 1 year FTC. A specialist within the composites arena they are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will predominantly focus on their composite processing techniques and engineering assembly strategies. Striving for continuous improvement and implementing/rollout new processes for the manufacture of composite components.

The Manufacturing Engineer (1 YR FTC) Role:

* Focus on engineering assembly strategies and manage the development or processing techniques

* Support with NPI and product development activities by creating more effective manufacturing processes

* Primary contact for all external customers with regards to technical queries

* Work towards a zero defects philosophy and lead continuous improvement activities to support with reducing wastage

* Generate simple and accurate work instructions for the manufacture of components, to assist with achieving ‘Right First Time’

* Carryout FMEA to identify and address potential failures and problems and implement control plans across various product lines

* Utilise ERP system to create and maintain BoMs and Routings

You’ll Need:

* HND qualification or equivalent within an engineering discipline

* Experience of Continuous Improvement, 8D Problem Solving and 5 Why’s within an engineering or manufacturing environment

* An understanding of composites materials and processing methods

* Previous experience of supporting NPI activities

* Adopts an analytical and methodical approach whilst being highly organised and process driven

* Previous exposure to autoclave pre-prep systems and Requirements Traceability Matrix

* Project Management experience would be advantageous

* A proactive approach and able to use own initiative to drive tasks to completion
