JD Bregman & Co is a firm of Chartered Accountants, Tax Advisers, and Registered Auditors. We provide a wide range of services to businesses and individuals in both the UK and abroad. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team.

We are a dynamic forward-looking practice using the latest cloud based software packages and technologies to service our clients in the most efficient manner.

We pride ourselves on personal and dynamic relationships with our clients.

You will be expected lead a team and to help with day-to-day book-keeping for clients which involves recording their transactions, bank reconciliation, balancing books and maintaining an up-to-date payroll, whether this is monthly or weekly.

You will be assisting with VAT returns using both Microsoft Excel and Accountancy software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero). Alongside this, you will be expected to assist with office and organisational duties allied to the role.

This is a client-facing role requiring you to interact with clients. Good communication skills and literary fluency are crucial for this role.

Essential requirements:

* Previous experience of working in an accounting or bookkeeping practice, dealing with multiple clients (minimum of working for two years in a similar role)

* Experience in Microsoft excel and word

* Experience in computerised financial accounting software e.g., Xero, Quickbooks

* Good numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail – especially when working with spreadsheets and software

* Previous experience of working in an accounting or bookkeeping practice, dealing with multiple clients

* Good communication skills both verbal and written

* Problem solving skills and able to work unsupervised using own initiative

* Ability to prioritise, plan and organise work

* Experience as a team leader in a vibrant cloud accountancy practice

Desirable:

* AAT, CIMA or ACCA qualified or part qualified

* Bookkeeping to trial balance (management accounts experience desirable)

* Ability to keep financial records and prepare routine financial reports
