Our client is an established national contractor, developer and investor working to help create and develop communities where people enjoy living.

The need now exists for a Senior Buyer to carry out the scheduling and purchase of materials on current construction projects, and to also assist in the financial reporting of projects.

You will be reporting to the Buying Manager and Commercial Director. The ideal candidate would be an integrated part of the project and several department teams and would require communication between all site management, commercial staff and the design managers on a regular basis.

Our client is seeking experienced applicants with a good understanding and knowledge of the construction industry. A proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines. Experience within the construction industry is essential, desirable if worked on new builds.

Responsibilities include:

* Provide cost advice to project teams

* Schedule, purchase and negotiate material orders for current projects

* Cost reporting and forecasting material out turn costs and margin

* Maximise profit on each project

* Identify ricks and opportunities regarding material specifications and supply

* Continually identify and review priorities in managing workload

* Build and develop supplier relationships

* Keep up to date with purchasing and material trends

In return, they are offering a basic salary between £60k - £70k + package
