My client are currently looking for an experienced planning and schedule leader to join their prototype shop based in Huddersfield. You will be responsible for leading a small team to develop and deliver the overall plan for the prototype operation to adhere to. This will be for an initial 12 month contract based on site, with the opportunity to extend or go permanent at the end of the original assignment.

The prototype site consists of around 50 people that develop prototypes for components and turbochargers. The successful candidate will be responsible for further developing the operational plan that is currently in place. They will be responsible for all planning and scheduling for UK Prototype, Inventory Management and the outsourcing strategy (to local machine shops).

We are looking for:

Previous planning and scheduling experience in any background is mandatory.
Previous experience in automotive or turbochargers is would be beneficial but not essential.
Prototype experience would be a plus but is not required.
People management.
Planning experience.
Adaptability to different tasks.
Responsibilities:

Accountable for the Planning & Scheduling Operation within UK Prototype.
Creates and owns an aligned, cohesive Operational plan for all of UK Prototype to aid in the efficient delivery of Prototype orders
Understanding of Machining, Assembly and Metrology Technical operations required
Align the plan to business priorities
Customer services Lead for UK Prototype
Be the contact point for Engineering / Program team requiring updates on delivery
Communicate to Program Teams / Engineers when delays are expected
Responsible for UK Prototype Inventory
Owns Planning, Delivery and Inventory KPIs
Understanding and capability of all Planning & Scheduling Tasks
Planning and releasing technical route cards
Subcon supplier management aligned to Operational Plan & Strategy
Material purchasing
BOM Management & ProNTO Management
Planning and releasing shop order cards
WIP Sheet management
