Mechanical Engineer

Our Client
My client is one of the UK's leading established M&E Contractors. With a formidable reputation in the industry for high profile project wins and successful delivery they continue to increase their order book well into 2024.
This company can offer security and development where other firms cannot, on a temp to perm basis. They have a number of recent project wins which means they are looking to expand across a number of areas and therefore require excellent Electrical Engineers and Mechanical Engineers to come on board long term.
The Role
Mechanical Project Engineer

Key responsibilities are;

The provision of technical engineering advice. Management and administration of project mechanical works within programme deadlines and to a quality satisfactory with the client, returning an acceptable profit margin
* Target and deliver engineering excellence in safety
* Earn a reputation for innovative engineering expertise and excellence
* Identify and manage risk
* Maximise advances in technology
* Achieve zero defects in company's own work and that of subcontractors
* Eliminate waste
* Attract and retain the best engineering staff
* Create a working environment that recognises and develops engineering talent
* Ensure all technical information is available when required for the delivery of design and/or construction
* Early Identification and resolution of non conformance
* Effective communication of technical issues between project management, and other functions/support services within the project team
* Application of engineering principles in the preparation of calculations/drawings/sketches and resolution of engineering challenges within specific knowledge areas
* Implementing engineering systems, documentation and controls by compliance with Health & Safety legislation, Company and industry standards
* Checking of drawings/ specifications
* Technical input when required into services, products and subcontractors
* Effective supervision and guidance to less experienced engineering staff
* Proven technical competence of materials and methods
* Good understanding of commercial consequences of engineering decisions taken
* Team player
* Effective communication skills both orally and in writing
* Good understanding/application of H&S legislation
* Competent in use of basic IT eng. Software packages
