Lead Stress Engineer needed for a multinational defence-engineering organisation-based Cwmbran who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Lead Stress Engineer that takes pride in their work with an in-depth understanding of software.
The successful candidate would desirably have a relevant experience in Lead Stress Engineering, and have a keen interest in Lead Stress Engineering. If you have Lead Stress Engineering experience within the Defence industry this is advantageous.
What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Lead Stress Engineer will include:
This role involves overseeing a team of skilled stress engineers utilizing advanced aerospace analysis methods, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving continuous improvement
Review, approve and provide expertise for stress documentation, reports and designs
Collaborate with design, certification, manufacturing and other departments as needed
Produce clear and concise communications and presentations for program and stress department support
What experience you need to be the successful Lead Stress Engineer:
Strong familiarity with aerospace regulations industry standards and codes
Proficient in aerospace analysis techniques, including linear/non linear implicit FE analysis, multi body dynamics and hand calculations
Exceptional organizational and planning skills for managing a technical team, meeting deadlines and collaborating across functions.
Proficient communication skills for liaising with internal teams, external partners and regulatory bodiesDesirable:
Proficiency in VBA, Python or similar programming languages
Experience in complex assembly and component optimization tools
Knowledge of high-performance steels, corrosion -resistant steels and sandwich panel constructionsEducation:
Bachelor's degree (2:1 minimum) in Mechanical/Aerospace/Structural Engineering (Essential).
Minimum 5 years of Aerospace or comparable industry experience (Essential).
