Job Description:

Leonardo has a fantastic new opportunity for a Subcontract Manager. Leonardo is a global high-tech company and one of the key players in Aerospace, Defence and Security. Headquartered in Italy, Leonardo has over 45,000 employees, of which 7,000 are based in the UK.

The opportunity:

The role of a Sub Contract Manager offers a wide variety of experiences and is both exciting and challenging in its nature. This role represents a unique opportunity for a high calibre candidate to thrive and grow within the Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business. This role will involve leading and delivering a procurement service to a critical New Product Introduction (NPI) activity within the Electro-Optic sector. The main focus for this role will be the development of the supply chain for a key new product, acting as the primary interface for the Project into the wider Procurement function and supply chain. This role will require a demonstrated ability to manage internal and external relationships and will require experience of working cross-functionally in a matrix organisation, in order to influence a breadth of business decisions throughout the Life Cycle Management (LCM) framework.

What we need from you:

The successful applicant will lead the delivery of a procurement service to a key New Product Introduction (NPI) activity in the Electro-optic sector, one that is critical to the success of the wider business. This will involve ownership and implementation of the Procurement Plan for the programme to ensure effective establishment of the supply chain as the product progresses through the lifecycle, to ensure key internal and external deadlines are met.

Key to the role is the ability both to understand and influence internal and external stakeholders, as well as a sound understanding of the nature and challenges of the New Product Introduction phase of the lifecycle. Additionally, sound knowledge of lifecycle management and ability to apply this independently to ensure the success of the programme is key.
