Prospero Teaching is working in conjunction with a Good Primary School in Salford that is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant with experience of delivering interventions in KS1 and KS2. The position is to support children within Key Stage 1 and 2, working with groups and individuals, at all ability levels, to assist in their academic development. The successful teaching assistant will be supporting children with Phonics, Reading, Writing and Maths. You will need to be experienced and confident in making and recording assessments. The teaching assistant is required to start in October and to cover until the end of spring term, perhaps ongoing throughout summer term also.

You will need:

Experience delivering interventions
Experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis
Knowledge of additional needs, especially autism
Good understanding of how to give clear, concise instructions
Ability to tailor your approach depending on the children's rate of progressIt would be advantageous if you have teaching assistant experience of delivering interventions such as Numbers Count, and have planned and delivered Phonics and Guided Reading sessions using known programmes of study such as Jolly Phonics, Read, Write Inc., or Letters and Sounds. The school has high expectations for the children, and staff work hard to ensure that every child receives the provision they need to reach their potential. You will need to have a pro-active and independent attitude, and be able to pitch your input appropriately to the different ability levels. The school is looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who can help the children grow in confidence and make progress across the curriculum.

You must have experience of working in a UK school, relevant qualification, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and references covering the last 2 full years.
