Hays Recruitment are currently supporting a national children's service provider as they require motivated and reliable support workers for a 4 bedroom EBD service in Runcorn. This is a 4 bedroom service that currently houses 3 young people. As this is a temporary to permanent role, permanent contracts are guaranteed for the right individuals.

Your new role
As a childcare worker / children's residential support worker in this EBD service you will work alongside colleagues to offer a tailored person-centred approach to the children and young people ensuring that their needs are at the heart of all operations. As you will be working in an EBD you will be working with challenging behaviours and behaviours that concern. The service offers a comprehensive approach, meaning that when challenging behaviours are expressed the children and young people are not to be punished, they are to be offered space to calm down and reflect, which will in-turn teach them valuable life skills. Other duties will include but are not limited to; access to education, emotional support, behavioural support, liaising with colleagues, families and social workers.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful with your application you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, a minimum of 6 months referenceable experience supporting children and young people in the last 2 years as well as:

A level 2 NVQ in Children's Social Care is advantageous but not essential.
A kind, caring, and patient nature.
A full driving licence is advantageous but not essential.
