Primary Teaching Assistant Sheffield KS1 September 1 year SEND needed urgently to help make a difference to a students education.

To start In the new year 18th September or just after and ongoing for the full (Apply online only) academics year at a primary school edge of Sheffield are looking for a multi-skilled TA, who is able to work on a 1:1 basis supporting a student with barriers to learning, Emotional and behavioural difficulties and additional statemented needs. There may also be an element of intervention and catch up work, often the child responds well to visual aids, q cards and can require time our of the classroom when over stimulated. This role is KS1 Y1 class and the child you are supporting has a Education healthcare plan in place and is working below the age related learning. So having ability of supporting lower age ranges is advantageous as well. As part of your role will be ensuring that the work set is acessible. The role requires a special caring, calm and dedicated candidate with a real interest in helping de-escaltion.

Our ideal candidate for the role needs to be bright, positive and have the ability to think on your feet and adapt quickly and not get easily flustered as this role will require you to support the school and somtimes changes might happen on which class you are covering last minute. We need this practitioner to have a minimum of half a term of experience in a school setting and ideally experience of working as a Teaching Assistant and holding the relevant qualifications.

The role is perfect for a graduate, who is looking to get into teaching, or for a TA who might be looking for wider experience or in a primary setting or even an early career teacher looking to gain more experience. Experience of working with similar students and in similar roles is advantageous.
