A global technology company are looking to take on a Trainee Field Service Engineer. You will gain invaluable training in both technical and soft skills, helping to secure a long-lasting career with a fantastic organization.

To provide service and support to customers from installation, through repairs, upgrades and maintenance to relocation and decommissioning. You will become proficient on all technical aspects relating to basic microscopy products.

You will be an ambassador for the company, placing highest priority on meeting customer needs, ensuring products are performing to specification and, meeting overall service performance targets.

Role Responsibilities:

Responsible for meeting daily service needs (diagnosis and repair, routine preventive maintenance, installation and commissioning) and driving customer satisfaction
Documents all service work and submits paperwork (or electronic equivalent) on a timely basis
Orders, installs and returns parts and manages the repair parts cycle time (spare-part management)
Ensures that tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated
Maintains clear and concise business communication, both oral and written
Travel within the UK and Ireland for work and overseas for training
Work outside of office hours including days other than Monday-Friday may be required
Comply with and ensure compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies
Considerate of commercial implications when carrying out duties

Your experience & qualifications:

A passion for technology and a desire to know how things work.
Technical Apprenticeship or similar qualification completed is desirable but not essential.
Experience in an electronics/mechantronics role is desirable but not essential
Full UK driving license
Permitted to work throughout UK and Ireland.
