HGV Mechanic

£45,000 per annum + weekend overtime

As an HGV Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our HGV fleet. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy goods vehicles, including trucks, lorries, and trailers. Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs to ensure they meet safety and operational standards

* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in a timely and efficient manner

* Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake repairs, and engine overhauls

* Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities

* Collaborate with the team to prioritize and complete repairs within established timelines

* Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices[i]

Qualifications:

* Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic, with a strong background in heavy goods vehicle maintenance

* Relevant technical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)

* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

* Familiarity with the latest diagnostic equipment and tools

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety

* A valid HGV driver's license (desirable but not essential)
