MM Search are delighted to be working retained on an exciting Procurement Manager role with our client, McGill's Buses! The ideal candidate would be someone looking to take that next step into a Procurement Manager position.

With depots in Barrhead, Greenock, Coatbridge, Inchinnan, Johnstone, and the recent acquisition of Xplore Dundee, McGill's has a strong presence in the transportation sector. The company operates frequent bus services throughout the West of Scotland, offering convenient transportation options for commuters and travelers.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to manage procurement activity and initiatives whilst rolling out best practice. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting and increasing cost effectiveness, improve compliance by ensuring best practice is adhered to and build a cost containment focused culture within the organisation. This role will involve travel between the depots located in the West, East and Dundee.

What you’ll do…

* Manage and oversee sourcing capabilities and supply chain for products and services

* Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiating contracts, consistency and value for money ensuring approved purchases fall within budget guidelines

* Manage the work of the Procurement & Stores Team

* Continually identify areas for improvement to drive performance and business results

* Perform risk management assessments for supply contract and agreements

* Support the creation of policies and procedures for risk management and mitigation

What you’ll need…

* Excellent verbal communication skills and a positive attitude

* Excellent people skills building strong workings relationships across all levels and teams across the organisation

* Excellent IT skills working with excel, powerpoint, word etc.

* Ability to work on own initiative and effectively as part of a wider team

* A flexible approach to working in varying locations

* A current UK driving licence is essential

* A CIPS level 4 certificate is essential
