Quantity Surveyor (Property Development) Circa £60,000 - £65,000
Location: Middlesbrough

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a passion for property development?

Reed Construction are working with a prominent property development company based in Middlesbrough, seeking a talented and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing the financial aspects of five upcoming property development projects, with values ranging from £1.5 million to £4.5 million.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for each property development project, ensuring alignment with client requirements and project goals.
* Collaborate with the procurement team to source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors, securing the most competitive pricing and favourable terms.
* Monitor project costs and financial progress meticulously, providing regular and detailed reports to the management team.
* Effectively handle contractual matters and manage change orders to ensure seamless project execution.
* Work closely with the project management team to maintain strict adherence to project timelines and budgets.
* Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate potential cost overruns.
* Ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards throughout the development process.
* Contribute valuable insights to cost planning and value engineering initiatives to enhance project efficiency and profitability.

Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor with experience in property development projects.
* Comprehensive knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes specific to property development.
* Proficient in cost estimating, financial analysis, and budget management.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills, essential for building strong relationships with stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required.
* Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Familiarity with relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, project management software, etc.).
* Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., RICS) would be advantageous
