Team Educate is seeking experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support our teachers in the classroom. We are seeking really reliable and committed individuals who have a genuine care for the children in their care. We are looking for someone who is punctual and very dependable. This position will be a full time role in a lovely primary school in Bridgwater, starting from September, as an SEN teaching assistant.

Position: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

Sector: Primary School, KS1

Salary: £78-84 per day

Start Date: ASAP

Requirements: ● Essential: 40+ days experience of working with children who are have physical and emotional needs

The ideal applicant will feel at ease working with children who have ALN. Given the specific needs of the students, the school is looking for someone who:

Is proactive and can work independently with minimal guidance from the class teacher.

Is seeking a full-time, long-term role.

Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Dyslexia

Dyspraxia

*

Multi-Sensory Impairment (MSI)

Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)

Profound and Moderate Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

*

Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

*

Severe Learning Difficulties

*

Physical Disabilities (PD).

You will: ● Be dedicated, inspiring and engaging. Having a genuine care for the children in your support. ● Create a safe, calm and positive environment for the student ● Work under the direction of teachers ● To organise and make appropriate resources to support the pupil ● Have an up to date DBS either with the update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS ● Be able to provide professional references covering the last 5 years

Skills

Strong people and communication skills with excellent listening skills required. Strong written skills required for all levels of education preferred.

Excellent organizational skills required.

*

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team required.
