Job description

We have an excellent opportunity for a Warehouse Operative based in Hinckley.

Working under the guidance of the Warehouse Supervisor and Chemists the role is to ensure effective management of day to day operations within the Transfer Station.

This is achieved by ensuring efficient management of material receipt, processing, dispatch and on site storage. Duties to be carried out in compliance with the site Permit, environmental, health, safety and transport legislation whilst also complying with the relevant company policies and procedures.

The person

COSHH - ability to assess potential safety/environmental/plant impact of processing hazardous waste.
Health and Safety and Environmental legislation as related to the Company's activities.
Ability to drive a Forklift or ability to learn
Good general health and physically fit must be able to perform physical activities.
Maintaining and developing relationships with 3rd Party Drivers

The role

To undertake duties of operative with regards to waste reception, baling, granulating, bulking, repackaging or dispatch
Management of stock levels of the consumables for use and report any deficiencies or reduction in numbers, requiring re order
Effective proactive liaison with other departments as necessary to meet the demands relevant to the Recycling unit
Warehousing, distribution and shipping management gaining in-depth knowledge eg HSG51 and HSG71
Motivate and promote good working relationships between all staff, drivers, contactors and other Labwaste visitors
To ensure adequate maintenance and inspections are carried out and records kept with regards to plant, equipment and site infrastructure
Ensure regular briefings to operatives with regards to daily issues and priorities
