Department/Section Onsite / Yard Worksop

Reports to: Mark Dunning and Simon Dunning

Job overview: Is responsible for managing the Worksop depot and ensuring it is run smoothly and in accordance with the company procedures . They must ensure workers including lorry drivers, yard workers and mechanics are qualified, trained and knowledgeable about their roles and make assignments according to skill sets.

Main Responsibilities and Duties: · Coordinating work according to priorities and plans

· Implementing schedules and monitor attendance of crew · Deal with issuing delivery & collection tickets and working with the office scheduling team

· Manage the servicing and repair of the fleet of lorries and forklifts and other vehicles associated with the depot

· Allocating general and daily responsibilities to depot staff

· Supervise and train operatives

· Ensure manpower and resources are adequate and deal with HR with recruitment

· Ensure all safety precautions and quality standards are met

· Supervise the use of machinery and equipment

· Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget set by head office

· Resolve problems when they arise

· Report on progress to management

· Other duties that are set by management

Ideal candidate: Required skills

· Previous experience within supervisors role

· Previous experience with managing a yard in the construction industry

· In-depth knowledge health and safety procedures

· Excellent organisation and leadership skills

· Good computer skills

· Problem solving skills

· Ability to communicate and report effectively

· Current forklift qualification

Preferred skills

· In-depth knowledge of trackway Education – Minimum requirements

· IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)

· First aid at work (Current)

· CPCS – Telescopic handler

Yard hours

7.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, may be some weekend work

Salary

BC dependent on experience
